Quilts and baskets are among the homemade crafts on sale at the Franco-American Festival held annually in late summer at Head of Falls on the Kennebec River in Waterville. This year's festival will be held September 12-13.

Docks to Doorways is a unique capital campaign involving the purchase and restoration of two properties along the Belgrade Stream and Main Street in Belgrade Lakes Village that would bring back the legacies and traditions of boating, docking, and shopping from Great Pond, legacies dating at least 150 years back. In honor of this effort, we present several historical photos of Belgrade Stream.

Well, this week I decided to sit on the porch at the Center for All Seasons and take advantage of our local library's free Wi-Fi. What a great place to relax and write! My view consists of gorgeous Great Pond and the marina, with a just a few youngsters running around laughing and playing in the water. Really, that's what summer is all about.
