Slow-the-Flow PlayDay Campers

Friends of the Cobbossee Watershed hosted eighty campers from the Boys and Girls Club of Greater Gardiner as part of their Slow-the-Flow PlayDays. Held at Gardiner Sportsman's Club facility on Cobbosseecontee Lake in Gardiner, this was the first of four PlayDays scheduled this summer for children attending four summer camps located within the 217-square-mile Cobbossee Watershed. Through hands-on activities, children learned about water quality sampling, the importance of planting buffers along lakeshores, and how water usage has changed over time and how that usage affects lake water quality.
