Visiting at Crystal Spring Camps, this gorgeous 36', mahogany, electric launch is powered by 24 car batteries. It was built in 1901 for the Chicago World's Fair and was used to take people in short jaunts around cement ponds.
In 1949 Edward and Beatrice Vlodek opened the Yardgoods Center in Waterville. The new store carried fabrics, yarns, plastics, laces and notions a limited inventory, compensated by the Vlodek's willingness to special order products their customers needed.
All of a sudden if feels like Mother Nature flicked a switch and turned summer on! For the longest time, I thought she either lost power or forgot to check her calendar, because we had to deal with lots of rain and unseasonable temperatures. This warm weather is a welcome gift, and this time of year is definitely one of my favorite fishing seasons.
