A diver from the Maine Department of Environmental Protection removes Eurasian milfoil found growing in Salmon Lake, just above the dam that separates the lake from the outlet stream that flows into Great Pond.
Last week we talked about nutrient enrichment of the lakes and the importance of limiting phosphorus inputs. Phosphorus loading to lakes is complex and comes from many sources.
"We've got to be as aggressive as we can," was the introductory message from President Don Borman at the McGrath Pond/Salmon Lake Association Meeting on Thursday, August 7, 2008. He was speaking about the recent discovery of Eurasian Milfoil in Salmon Lake.
"It's really hard to ID," states Dick Enright.
