Lazy Lab Café to Open in Belgrade
Take two Wendys, two black labs named Libby, a lot of enthusiasm and vision, and a business that combines coffee fare convenience, bestseller books, and a cyber connection and the result is the Lazy Lab Café, opening soon in Belgrade Lakes Village. Located in part of the Spring Gallery building, a.k.a. the former post office, The Lazy Lab Café – Coffee Bar/Bookstore/Internet, is the inspiration of Belgraders Wendy Schlosser and Wendy McCartney. "We're still evolving," say the duo, who plan to offer year round an exceptional line of coffee beverages, locally-made pastries and light luncheon foods, a selection of popular current books for all ages, and a computer nook with broadband high-speed hookup. The setting will be "conversational," including a bar with stools as well as café tables for the quick hot beverage — or the lingering one, comfortable seats in the book/reading room, and eating on the porch during the warm seasons.
The computers, the bookshop, the coffee varieties — including espresso, cappuccino, mocha and more — are all currently amenities that Belgraders, vacationers and guests have to drive out of town to find. Since often people prefer not to drive far, the Lazy Lab offers a local advantage. It also will offer Maine books and gifts, and a retail line of Lazy Lab items. The two Wendys will be welcoming customers starting October Fest/Columbus Day weekend. And the two Libby labs? They'll be staying at home | ||
