The End of the Summer

Esther and Charles Pierce

Thanks to Esther and Charles Pierce for delivering Summertime in Oakland, Mt. Vernon, and Vienna. They are shown here with their great grandson, Corey. Happy 90th Birthday to Charles on September 30!

Dear Readers:

Although the Summertime in the Belgrades comprehensive fall issue is in the works, this Labor Day volume essentially marks the end of our summer season. It has been a good one, and a busy one for Summertime in the Belgrades as we continue to follow the many wholesome, family-oriented activities that this beautiful area has to offer and to keep readers informed about the fast-paced changes and pro-active responses that are taking place.

For all the compliments, the encouraging comments, and the continual positive feedback, Summertime in the Belgrades thanks its many and diverse readers. We also thank our many advertisers who are the strength and provide the support for the paper.

During the season of 2005, Summertime in the Belgrades has increased its circulation — and even so it's hard to keep some of our busier outlets stocked. We have expanded our distribution, which now includes some of the turnpike information centers, as well as key locations in neighboring watersheds. And, we have added a golf page. Our website continues to provide tantalizing excerpts from each issue.

We look forward to the months ahead, to planning a bigger and better 2006 Summertime, and to bringing you the best of the traditional, the natural, the reason-why-everyone-is-here qualities of this beautiful part of the world.

Until then, look for our fall issue and don't forget that fall, winter, anytime we love to hear from you.

Erle, Esther, Mike, Greg, and all the staff!
