A French Immersion in Québec

Vieux-Québec

A visit to the old part of Quebec city is always part of the immersion. The Château Frontenac, a grand hotel, is on the left, and the Terrasse Dufferin, a broad boardwalk, is at right.

A week speaking French, living with French families, attending 22 hours of instruction, participating in visits and outings, and enjoying the hospitality of Maine's neighboring Canadian province of Quebec. That was the agenda for ten adults from throughout Maine who participated in a French Immersion Program in St. Georges, Quebec at the end of June.

Ongoing for over a decade, the one-week program is currently being offered as part of the Kennebec-Chaudière International Corridor, Maine/Quebec cultural, tourism, educational, and recreational development initiative. For more information, call André Pied at 668-4186.
